Delicious CBD Winter Recipes

Delicious CBD Winter Recipes

When it comes to the holiday season, there's a lot to cherish — but as far as I'm concerned, nothing beats the good food and drink you share with family and loved ones!

But when you add in a dash of CBD, cooking during the holiday season gets all the sweeter.

From CBD cookies to CBD-infused drinks, CBD Christmas pudding and more — a bit of cannabidiol can fit into virtually any holiday classic, bringing CBD goodness to all your festivities.

So in the holiday spirit, here are a few of our favorite winter recipes, with an extra infusion of CBD cooking to make the season just a little brighter. Happy Holidays!

CBDelicious Christmas Cookies

Sugar cookies are a holiday favorite and a near-mandatory part of many family gatherings! Adding a dash of CBD to the mix only makes the celebration merrier.

What You'll Need

  • 3 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups white sugar
  • 1 cup margarine, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • CBD isolate powder or unflavored CBD-isolate tincture (to minimize the impact on cookies' taste)
  • Optional: festively shaped cookie cutters

Cooking Instructions

  1. Sift the salt, baking powder, and flour in a medium bowl and set it aside.
  2. Beat the sugar and margarine in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Beat 1 egg into the butter mixture. Then add vanilla extract and beat other 1 egg into the mixture.
  4. Add flour, then stir until dough is just combined. Wrap the dough and chill in the refrigerator for ~2 hours.
  5. Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease two cookie sheets.
  6. Roll dough on a floured surface until it is even and ~¼ in. thick. Then cut out desired shapes (using cookie cutters is ideal). Combine scraps, roll back out, and cut new cookies until dough is used up.
  7. Arrange cookies on cookie sheets, then bake for 6-8 minutes, until edges are golden.
  8. Briefly allow cookies to cool, then place on a wire cooling rack.

For my money, there's simply no Fall dish more fitting than pumpkin pie. So, in the spirit of the season, let's tweak this classic with a dash of CBD goodness!

(Spiked) CBD Cocoa

Spiking is optional, but cocoa is a mandatory holiday beverage — at least as far as I'm concerned. For a quick CBD cocoa fix, you could always just add a dash of CBD to your Swiss Miss, but where's the fun in that? Here's a quick, delicious recipe for DIY CBD cocoa.

What You'll Need

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • ¼ tsp. of nutmeg
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 oz. of chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp. cocoa powder, unsweetened
  • Your choice of CBD oil (though an orange-flavored oil is a great flavor complement!)
    • Optional: 1 shot of whiskey
    • Optional: Mini marshmallows

Cooking Instructions

  1. Place milk into a saucepan and put on medium-high heat.
  2. Add cinnamon, star anise, nutmeg, and bring to a boil. Once boiling, lower heat and allow to simmer for ~10 minutes.
  3. Strain the mixture, then pour it back into the saucepan.
  4. Stir-in chocolate chips and cocoa powder, then mix well.
  5. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat. Stir well until chips are fully melted and mixed.
  6. Allow to cool somewhat, then pour into a mug and add your dose of CBD.
  7. Optionally, add shot of whiskey and top with mini marshmallows.

CBD Pumpkin Pie Perfection

Pick whatever holiday dessert you like — but I, for one, just can't get enough pumpkin pie. And so it's obvious: combining my favorite dessert with a bit of CBD is a match made in heaven!

What You'll Need:

  • Your choice of CBD product
    • Note: a high-potency, MCT-based CBD oil may be ideal here, as it allows for your target dose without adding too much extra liquid to the dish.
  • 15 ounces of pumpkin puree
  • 14 ounces can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon of ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • A 9" unbaked pie crust

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Whisk together the CBD oil, pumpkin puree, condensed milk, eggs, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Pour mixture into the unbaked pie crust.
  4. Bake for 25 minutes.
  5. Continue to bake, checking for doneness approximately every 10 minutes. To do so, insert a knife into the pie ~1 inch from the crust. If the knife comes out clean, you're done!
